Pair of Sentences Handed Down in Wayne County

In Wayne County Court on Thursday, a pair of sentences were handed down.

According to court records, 40-year-old Amanda Ball of Fairfield was sentenced to 7-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by a year of mandatory supervised release. Ball was also denied a new trial in Wayne County Court on Thursday. Ball was found guilty in August of delivery of meth of more than 15, but less than 100 grams, possession of meth of more than 15, but less than 100 grams, 2 counds of use of vehicle or property to distribute meth, and possession of a controlled substance.

59-year-old Russell Pragit of Burnt Prairie was sentenced to 5 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by a year of mandatory supervised release. Pragit pled guilty to burglary in an incident that took place in July of this year.
