Karen Miskell, 62, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away on September 18, 2025 at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mount Carmel, Illinois. She was born on April 7, 1963 in Mount Carmel, Illinois, the daughter of Jack and Opal (Deisher) Smith.

Karen was a devoted mother and grandmother who deeply cherished time spent with her family. She found joy in simple pleasures; curling up with a good book, singing karaoke, and sharing her love through cooking. Her kitchen was often filled with warmth, laughter, and the delicious meals she lovingly prepared for those around her. Karen earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and worked for Toyota Manufacturing. She will be missed by her family and all who knew her.

Karen will be remembered by her daughter, Karrissa Miskell; grandchildren, Iris Rose, Ash Angel, Jonas John Thomas, and Marius LaRock; niece, Heather (Jason) Miskell; nephew, Joe (Andrea) Delong; great niece and nephew, Shelby and Brandon Luttrell; sister, Debbie (Joe) Delong. Karen was preceded in death by her parents.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 23, 2025 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 23, 2025 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Moore officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in Karen’s memory to Wabash County Animal Shelter Buddies. Envelopes will be at the funeral home or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
