Washington City Council Meets for Second Time in September

WASHINGTON – The City of Washington held their second and final meeting for the month of September Monday Evening at Washington City Hall.

After claims were paid, officials tabled an ordinance that would revise section 112 of the city’s code of ordinances. The council approved an ordinance that would replat lots 11 and 12 in section 5 of the Deerfield Subdivision. The board also approved an ordinance for appropriations for tax rates for 2026.

In other business, the city set official Trick-or-Treating hours for Halloween. Officials have set the hours to be from 5 PM until 8:30 PM. Finally, they officially moved the 1st City Council meeting to October 14th due to Columbus Day on October 13th.
