Princeton City Council Holds First October Meeting

The Princeton City Council and Board of Works both met Monday Evening.

During the council meeting, officials held a public hearing for the upcoming fiscal year budget. Nobody spoke for or against the budget The council will take a vote on the budget on October 20th. The council introduced a bond ordinance. The ordinance would be for infrastructure improvements. A public hearing on the bond ordinance will be held October 20th as well as a vote on the measure. The board heard a presentation of an invoice on a pay application for work. The council approved the payment unanimously. Finally, discussion over a clarifier final completion certification. The warranty period of the work was discussed.

In other council business, the council heard and approved requests for street closures for an upcoming North Gibson Education Fountation Pickleball Tournament near Lincoln Street on October 18th and 19th and for Oasis’s Light the Night event on October 29th involving the closure of Stout Street between Ohio and Kentucky Streets. Both closures were approved unanimously.

During the board of works meeting, the board items approved several items involving the clarifier rehabilitation project. One item was a change order for around $45,579.91 and some time changes. The substantial date of completion on the project was set as August 5th, meaning the project work is under warranty until August 5th of 2026.
