Pike County Officials Issue Jury Duty Scam Alert

The Pike County Sheriffs Departmentreports that they have received multiple complaints regarding citizens receiving calls about missing a court date or jury duty.

According to complaints, they say that the caller is advising that he or she works for the Pike County Sheriff’s Office or surrounding agencies.

Officials with the Pile County Sheriff’s Office say that these calls should be disregarded and to not provide any of your personal information over the phone.  Officials say the scammers are using open-source information sites to gain knowledge of you before they call, such as, your name, address or relatives names. If you have any questions or concerns that a call is legitimate you can always call the Pike County Sheriff’s Office directly and confirm before providing any information.
