Drug Related Arrest Made in Pike County

Pike County authorities made an arrest Tuesday evening of a man on drug related charges. According to the jail log, 31-year-old Evan Sturgeon was booked into the Pike County Jail. Sturgeon faces charges of possession of cocaine or a narcotics drug, neglect of a dependant, possession of marijuana, and maintaining a common nuisance. Sturgeon is being held in the Pike County Jail.

Wayne County Man Arrested on Auto Part Theft Charge

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Wayne County Man on a auto part theft charge. 19-year-old Eagan Summers was taken into custody and booked into the Wayne County Jail on a charge of unlawful possession of a vehicle part, knowing it to be stolen. Summers remains in the Wayne County Jail, pending a detention hearing.

Washington Police arrested a Washington man following an investigation into the armed robbery of the Marathon on West National Highway that took place Monday. According to Washington Police, 18-year-old Isaac Hardcastle was taken into custody outside of a residence in the 1200 block of McCormick Avenue. Applications are now open for Jasper County's Shop With A Cop Program. The applications are due by Wednesday November 12th at 3:00 PM. Those can be turned into the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office. on East Morgan Street. Children must between the ages of 3 and 14 to participate. Vincennes Rotary Selling 52 for 52 Tickets for 2026

For many years, the Vincennes Rotary Club has raised money by holding a weekly giveaway of $250 for 52 weeks. Officials with Rotary are now selling tickets for the 2026 fundraiser. Over the years, the Vincennes Rotary has used the money raised for service projects, community events, and scholarships for area high school students. Tickets are $52 and are available through any Vincennes Rotarian.

The State of Illinois has announced that the Mount Carmel branch of the Illinois Secretary of State's Office will be closing. According to the state, the location is one of the lowest used locations in the state, averaging around 15 license transactions daily. The staff will be transferred to a nearby location. Nearby Secretary of State locations include Lawrenceville, Carmi, Fairfield, and Olney. The final day will be November 14th.
