Frontier Community College is currently accepting applications for the Blake Fehrenbacher, RN Memorial Scholarship. This $1,000 award is open to students currently enrolled in an accredited health science program who demonstrate financial need and the ability to complete their program. October 3, 2025 - The City of Fairfield water department has issued a boil order for the following two streets: Witter Drive, and SE 9th Street. All water used for human consumption should be boiled until notification that water samples have passed testing. Updates will be posted.

On Monday 9/30/25, at approximately 9:43 PM, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department arrested 19-year-old Caleb T. Vaughan of Barnhill, IL on warrants charging him with Criminal Sexual Assault and Criminal Sexual Abuse-Sexual Conduct-Use of Threat or Force.
