ALBION - The City of Albion has announced that a local street will close next Wednesday for a few days as pavement resurfacing will take place. A major road closure next week will affect several people in Fairfield. Norfolk Southern will be working on the rail crossing on US 45 starting Monday Morning. City officials say the road will be closed near the railroad crossing through Friday, October 3rd. The official detour will use King Street, Southwest 4th Street, and Highland Avenue.

MOUNT CARMEL, IL - Mount Carmel police arrested a Mount Carmel Woman on a theft charge Tuesday. At 5:02 PM Tuesday, police booked 20-year-old Tessa Smith into the Wabash County Jail. Smith faces a single count of theft of labor or services or Use of Property. Smith is being held in the Wabash County Jail, pending a court appearance.
