Emergency crews were called to the rail line near Duke Energy's Gibson Generating Station for a train derailment early Wednesday. According to authorities, the derailment happened on the Indiana Side of the Big Four Bridge, injuring a couple of rail workers. The train was hauling coal from Mount Carmel to Gibson Station. The investigation into the accident continues.

INDOT has announced that maintenance work will be taking place next week for light maintenance. Beginning on or around Tuesday, October 14, crews will begin alternating lane restrictions on ramps at the U.S. 41/6th Street/U.S. 50 interchange in Vincennes for the maintenance work. Davies County Sheriffs Deputies arrested a man late Tuesday evening following a traffic stop. According to the Daviess County Jail log, 45-year-old Stephen Sagreant was taken into custody. Sargeant faces charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, endangering a person. Sargeant is being held without bond in the Daviess County Security Center
Knox County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a man Tuesday following investigation into an incident involving a weapon. At 10:50 AM, 41-year-old Edmond King was booked into the Knox County Jail. King faces counts of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and disorderly conduct. King is being held in the Knox County Jail.
Pike County authorities made an arrest Tuesday evening of a man on drug related charges. According to the jail log, 31-year-old Evan Sturgeon was booked into the Pike County Jail. Sturgeon faces charges of possession of cocaine or a narcotics drug, neglect of a dependant, possession of marijuana, and maintaining a common nuisance. Sturgeon is being held in the Pike County Jail.
