October 3, 2025 - The City of Fairfield water department has issued a boil order for the following two streets: Witter Drive, and SE 9th Street. All water used for human consumption should be boiled until notification that water samples have passed testing. Updates will be posted.

Wayne County Treasurer, Yvette Anderson, is reminding residents that the first installment on property tax bills is due today, with the second installment to be due on November 10th. Major Road Closing In Fairfield Next Week

A major road closure next week will affect several people in Fairfield. Norfolk Southern will be working on the rail crossing on US 45 starting Monday Morning. City officials say the road will be closed near the railroad crossing through Friday, October 3rd. The official detour will use King Street, Southwest 4th Street, and Highland Avenue.

32-year-old Kaine Nino was in Wayne County Court on Tuesday. Nino is currently facing murder related charges. According to court documents, a 5th charge, aggravated battery, was added to the indictment. Nino pled not guilty to that count.
