Crawford County Sheriff, Bill Rutan, officially announced the termination of Deputy Ian Kasemeyer.
According to information obtained by Illiana News, Kasemeyer was put on administrative leave on Sunday following a video on social media that was posted involving him made its rounds. Kasemeyer was a member of the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department for about 2 years.
Sheriff Rutan in a statement said, “The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office is committed to upholding the highest standards of professional conduct for all personnel, both on and off duty. The
actions of this individual do not reflect the values of our office or the expectations of our community. We have taken swift and appropriate action to address this matter.”
Rutan also went on to say “the sheriff’s office is committed to upholding the public’s trust and maintaining accountability within its ranks.”
Prior to his time with the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, Kasemeyer was with the Casey Police Department. Sources tell Illiana News that Kasemeyer was fired from the Casey Police Department for a similar situation before joining the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department.
