Piland Sentenced To IDOC In Edwards County

49 year old Edward J Piland of Albion made his appearance before Judge St. Ledger in Edwards County Court on Tuesday for sentencing stemming from July 2025 charges of Aggravated Battery of a Peace Officer, Aggravated Intimidation of a Peace Officer, Domestic Battery/Physical Contact, and Resisting.

Piland was sentenced to 3 years in the Illinois Department Of Corrections to be ran concurrent with 1 year Mandatory Supervised Release.  He was also credit for time served, with no fine levied  assessments waived, and truth in sentencing and appeal rights given. He was remanded to the custody of the Sheriff pending transport to IDOC.
