The board met Monday night, approving several personnel changes, fundraisers, and financial items — along with updates on the district’s Sister Cities exchange and teacher contract progress.

Under personnel decisions, the board accepted the resignations of Tessa Boger, CMS Health Teacher; Karyn Cook, Tecumseh-Harrison Title One Aide; and David LaCour, School Resource Officer — all effective mid-October.

Among new hires — Jaden Field was approved as the new CMS Health Teacher beginning November 10th. Also joining the team: Jessica Conrad, CMS Life Skills Paraprofessional; Cara Burton, After School Daycare Aide at Tecumseh-Harrison; and John Hanes, Crossing Guard.

The board also approved several coaching appointments across district schools.

A number of fundraisers were approved, including Boo Grams at Vigo Elementary and CMS, a dance fundraiser by the Tecumseh PTO, and a Dine to Donate night at McDonald’s for CMS on October twenty-third.

The CMS Life Skills class will also sell merchandise and host a Dine to Donate event at Fazoli’s to raise money for their upcoming class trip.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes received approval to use Inman Field for their Fields of Faith event on November second.

Superintendent Greg Parsley also highlighted the upcoming Sister Cities exchange with Vincennes, France. From October 18th through the 25th, the district will host 18 students and three chaperones visiting from La Providence. Students will stay with local host families and experience local culture, history, and education.

Parsley also provided an update on the tentative 2025–2027 teacher contract, which was unanimously ratified by the Vincennes Education Association following informal and formal negotiations. The full contract will come before the board for approval in November.

Finally, the board approved several financial actions — including a $1.5 million transfer from the Education Fund to the Rainy Day Fund, adoption of the 2026 budget, and authorization for a tax anticipation warrant.

The advertised total budget stands at just over $44 million.
